Maas Energy Works is the leading developer and operator of agricultural waste-to-energy systems in the United States. The Company designs, develops, constructs, and operates biogas renewable energy generation systems, primarily on dairy farms. Our projects include anaerobic digesters, biogas-powered electric generation, and renewable natural gas upgrading.
Position DescriptionMaas Energy Works (MEW) is seeking an experienced Operations Field Technician II to maintain and optimize the performance of dairy digester systems across multiple project sites. This position is suited for professionals with strong mechanical aptitude and direct experience working with diesel engines and industrial systems.
The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience with diesel engine systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and field-based industrial equipment, and will act as a resource and informal mentor for newer Field Technicians.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance at operational facilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues independently
- Maintain and repair:
- Diesel and natural gas engines
- Biogas pipeline systems
- 3-phase electric motors
- Manure pumps and automated controls (PLCs, sensors, etc.)
- Industrial flares and gas-handling equipment
- Monitor equipment performance metrics and document service records
- Assist in training or guiding Field Technician I staff when needed
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and suggest procurement needs
- Communicate effectively via phone, text, and email with team members, clients, and partners
- Minimum 2-5 years of mechanical experience with diesel or natural gas engines
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of engine diagnostics and field repair
- Familiarity with PLC-based systems, electrical troubleshooting, and instrumentation
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Experience working independently in field-based environments
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Proficient in English;
Spanish helpful but not required - Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions and around livestock/agricultural environments
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check and a motor vehicle (DMV) background check to qualify for use of a company vehicle.

This job mainly operates in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, etc. Noise level may be loud at times and works around moving mechanical or construction equipment.
