What We Are Looking For- Assist in managing and maintaining accounting ledgers and reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with Income Statement variance analysis, comparing actual performance to budgeted amounts, and assist in the budget preparation process to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
- Assist in maintaining accounting policies, internal controls, and asset safeguards.
- Assist in managing monthly, quarterly, and annual close, communicating, and maintaining deadlines.
- Assist and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, verifying the accuracy and completeness of accounts, and investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with recording daily bank transactions and perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring that all bank activities are properly reflected in the general ledger and that any discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Assist and liaison with regional managers and third‑party vendors in resolving, and understanding of programmatic and systems requirements.
- Partner with the executive management team to improve existing accounting processes and systems.
- Assist with full cycle AP; ACH payments and check cutting and reconciliation.
- Assist in preparing general ledger, investor distributions, support and backup documentation with mortgage lenders and underwriters.
- Work with the Accounts Payable Manager to create credit card policies; monitor credit card activity and timely reconciliations.
- Work with the Executive Owners to assist in data analytics, analysis and software implementation and integration.
- Assist and process accounts payable invoices ensuring timely payments to vendors; maintain AP aging and 1099 reporting.
- Assist in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant experience is a plus (3-5 years).
- Fundamental understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial concepts.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as App Folio; familiarity with Microsoft Excel/Access and Word is essential.
- Hands on experience with systems integration and implementation.
- Tech savvy knowledge of current CRM systems.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and basic regulatory reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial reports and perform account analysis and data analytics.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills in collaborating with team members across departments.
Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
