Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in changing environments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain general ledger activity and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Participate in system implementations, process improvement projects, and special accounting initiatives.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and business leaders across client organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or multiple industry environments.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics 365, Intacct, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
