Behavioral Aide

Under the general direction of the assigned administrator or certificated staff member, the Behavioral Aide performs a variety of specialized activities to support instructional programs for students with severe and extreme behavioral needs. This role involves implementing individualized programs across school and home settings, preparing modified curriculum materials, collecting daily data, and supporting students as they transition into general education environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Implementation:
Executes individualized instructional programs (e.g., discrete trial training, social skills development, behavior plans) developed by Behavior Specialists or Case Managers within home or school settings. Inclusion Support:
Supports students transitioning into general education classrooms using inclusion techniques such as shadow prompting. Collaboration & Accommodation:
Consults with classroom teachers regarding upcoming assignments, and prepares necessary materials and equipment for curriculum accommodations and modifications. Data Collection & Reporting:
Collects daily progress data on assigned students and regularly reports findings to supervisors and the student's IEP team. Staff Training:
Assists in training general education staff members on autism and appropriate interventions.
