Job Description

Responsible for all phases of continuous candy-making processes, including the operation of computer-based process control systems. Assembles and disassembles equipment, pumps, and piping associated with premixing, cooking, and depositing. Operates CIP (cleaning in place) systems dedicated to continuous candy making processes. Starting Hourly Rate: $35.24

Description Of Responsibilities:

  • Maintains documents on daily procedures.
  • Assists Maintenance and R&D personnel with diagnosing system faults and preventative action.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the production floor.
  • Ensuring recipes, safety protocols, and outputs schedule are kept efficiently.
  • Foreperson bridge between supervisors and line workers to maintain consistent product quality and strict sanitation standards.
  • Responsibilities include prioritizing daily tasks and executing production schedules to hit output goals.
  • Coordinate workflow across multiple stations such as batching ingredients, cooking, forming, wrapping, sorting, packing, labeling, palletizing.
  • Ensures finished products or confections meet exact specifications for taste, texture, and appearance; this involves monitoring cooking temperatures and machine calibrations to prevent defects.

Safety And Compliance:

  • Enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), OSHA requirements, and strict food safety protocols to maintain a sanitary workplace.

Team Leadership:

  • Training operators, fostering teamwork, and resolving conflicts.

Equipment Maintenance And Troubleshooting:

  • Collaborating with the maintenance department to fix, clean, or adjust machinery.

Documentation:

  • Keeping accurate records of ingredients usage, batch times, and production waste.
  • Ensuring operators follow all standard procedures while operating machines.
  • Ensuring line workers follow all procedures while sorting, weighting, and packing products.
  • Ensuring production team collaborate with other team members to optimize workflow.
  • Ensuring operators and production specialists are responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with housekeeping standards.
  • Ensuring operators and production specialists adhere to safety protocols and follow all safety procedures, including OSHA regulations and lockout/tagout requirements.

Essential Tasks:

  • Candy forming and wrapping machine operation and monitoring. Inspect candy consistency in size and shape. Adjust machine settings for different candy types or production requirements. Install and adjust parts as needed for the right operation and controls defects. Record production data.
  • Follows food safety requirements and hygiene protocols.
  • Document all production downtimes during working shift.

Schedule:

  • Must be available to work any shift as required by operational needs.
  • Shifts may begin in the early morning or in the afternoon.
  • Employee may be assigned to either a 4/10 schedule or a 5/8 schedule based on operational requirements. The assigned schedule may change periodically to meet business needs.
