We are looking for a Software Engineering Co‑Op able to contribute broadly across numerous aspects of the software ecosystem required for a complex medical robotic system. In this role you will work alongside seasoned software engineers from Intuitive Surgical and Auris Health as well as interact cross‑functionally with hardware, systems and vision engineers, tackling challenging problems while learning how to develop real world, safety‑critical software in a production environment.

The ideal candidate would act with passion and enthusiasm in a medical device start‑up that is fast paced and collaborative. For the right person, this position will be an exciting and career‑defining opportunity, making core contributions to a genuinely new type of medical robotic platform.

• Developing robust code for various modules in the robotic software.
• Researching, investigating and fixing a wide range of technical issues.
• Proactively learning about new technologies.
• Debugging and testing code on the robot.
• Documenting the implemented software features.

• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Robotics or similar.
• Experience with Python and/or C++.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to interact with cross‑functional teams.

Neptune Medical is located in Burlingame, CA, near the Millbrae Caltrain and BART Station.

The starting hourly rate for this role is between $38 and $45 per hour depending on experience. The actual hourly rate is dependent upon many factors, such as education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for 401(K) with matching.
