Job Overview
Personal Banker Trainee – Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Base salary $57,500–$74,400 CAD. Position open to candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and an interest in financial services. Mandatory mobility within the designated district.
Responsibilities- Advise customers on high‑level financial solutions, including investment and credit banking options.
- Ask thoughtful financial questions to engage customers and create positive experiences, retaining and deepening relationships.
- Provide personalized financial advice, answer questions, address concerns, and raise matters to appropriate team members while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Serve as a point of contact for frontline staff in handling customer problems.
- Maintain a professional space in common areas per marketing and regulatory guidelines.
- Deliver financial reviews, discuss portfolio updates, and suggest personalized solutions based on customers’ financial goals.
- Stay knowledgeable about emerging issues, evolving regulations, and industry codes of conduct; participate in process‑improvement opportunities.
- Strive to achieve and improve service‑level agreements and productivity targets.
- Ensure documents are prepared consistently with relevant regulations and correctly reflect business intentions.
- Participate fully as a team member, help build a positive and diverse work environment, assist and mentor others, and address communication issues efficiently.
- High school diploma and/or 1 year of relevant experience.
- Post‑secondary or undergraduate degree in a related field is an asset.
- Completion of IFIC or equivalent required.
- CFSA certification must be completed within 12 months if hired.
- Real‑estate secured lending and/or investment experience is an asset.
- Sound knowledge of advanced investing and credit processes, banking solutions, and concepts to provide personalized advice in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with software tools including MS Office and internet applications.
- Effective communication skills, able to exchange ideas and customer information concisely and logically.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time‑management skills; self‑initiator.
This role requires mobility within the assigned district. Upon completion of the training program, the candidate may be assigned to a position at another TD location in the region.
