A Day in the Life of an Overhead Door Technician

As a seasoned technician, you’ll perform installation, service, and repair of garage and overhead doors for residential, commercial, and industrial sites. You’ll work with electric openers, barrier gates, and other access systems, often troubleshooting and finding solutions in real‑time. Whether it’s routine maintenance or emergency repair, you’re a steady hand who gets the job done right the first time.

  • Complete service and repairs for overhead doors and access systems
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues quickly and effectively
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet customer expectations
  • Maintain detailed and accurate job documentation
  • Represent Dodds with professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Support our emergency on‑call rotation as needed
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of Overhead Door Technician experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a comfort level handling electrical components
  • Experience working with openers, barrier gates, and access control systems
  • No issues working at heights or with heavy tools and materials
  • A clean driver’s abstract and criminal record
  • Physically capable of performing daily tasks safely and efficiently

Salary: average earnings +$70,000 - Piece rate
