Civil Project Manager
The Civil Project Manager oversees heavy civil construction projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This role works closely with field leadership, operations teams, vendors, and clients, participating in both office and field-based activities throughout the construction lifecycle. The position focuses on effective project planning, resource management, and coordination to support successful delivery of transportation, drainage, marine, and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with field leadership, operations teams, vendors, and clients to support successful project delivery.
- Participate in both office and field-based project activities throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Directly manage labor resources, equipment utilization, and material procurement to ensure efficient project execution.
- Review project plans, specifications, takeoffs, and submittal packages before and during construction to confirm accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- Procure materials, equipment, and other project resources while maintaining strong vendor and supplier relationships.
- Lead day-to-day project coordination efforts with superintendents, field personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Support operational planning, manpower forecasting, and resource allocation across assigned projects.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and communicate updates to internal teams and external clients.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Oversee project documentation, reporting requirements, contract administration, and compliance activities.
- Manage the financial health of assigned projects, including cost tracking, forecasting, billing, and project closeout.
- Provide overall leadership from project kickoff through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Essential
Skills:
- 5–8 years of project management experience, preferably on heavy civil construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in civil and heavy civil construction, including transportation, drainage, marine, and infrastructure projects.
- Strong construction management skills with the ability to oversee complex project scopes.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and coordination across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic project environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in guiding project teams and field operations.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.

- Adaptability to increased project oversight responsibilities in more Sr-level positions.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a blended work environment that includes remote work, office-based responsibilities, and frequent travel to project sites. The Civil Project Manager is typically assigned to one primary project at a time, with project scope and oversight increasing at more Sr-levels. The position involves significant interaction with field operations teams and project stakeholders, requiring regular site visits to active heavy civil construction projects.
Travel reimbursements, lodging assistance when applicable, per diem opportunities based on assignment requirements, and additional field-related compensation programs may be available, along with eligibility for a vehicle program. The work setting is dynamic and fast-paced, centered around transportation, drainage, marine, and broader infrastructure construction activities.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $130000.00/yr. We offer an industry-leading benefits package.
