Location: Burlington, MA (3 days/week in office)
Salary: $95,000-$105,000

The Accounting Manager’s Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Oversee day to day accounting operations including accounts payable, bank transactions, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and trial balances to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare, analyze, and review quarterly and year end financial statements in accordance with GAAP and statutory accounting principles
• Ensure compliance with insurance industry regulations and support all statutory reporting requirements, including state filings
• Assist with the coordination and preparation of year end audit materials and support external auditors as needed
• Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities to enhance processes and department efficiencies
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to accounting staff, including performance feedback and goal setting
• Partner cross functionally with other departments to support company standards and finance related initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Industry experience insurance, financial services, or another regulated environment is a plus
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience required
