Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team in Burlington, MA. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity for a highly analytical accounting professional with strong financial reporting, cost accounting, and government contract accounting experience. The role reports directly to the Controller and will support a variety of accounting and financial functions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Manage financial data and reporting for contracts, including tracking project costs, labor, travel, and other direct expenses.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting.
- Create and manage purchase requests and purchase orders for vendors and subcontractors.
- Review and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices.
- Monitor timesheets, labor allocations, travel expenses, and contract-related costs.
- Prepare and review invoices while supporting full-cycle Accounts Receivable functions.
- Analyze financial information and provide recommendations to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with financial and contractual requirements.
- Assist Controller with Month End Close
- Assist with business insurance, stock program, SAMS renewals, GSA Mods processing
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required
- 5-10+ years of accounting and finance experience, including cost accounting and financial analysis.
- Government contracting and/or DOD contract accounting experience required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Unanet or other DCAA-compliant accounting systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check and credit check.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
