Operations Manager, Construction Manager/ Foreman
Job Description Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day jobsite operations to deliver residential projects safely, on schedule, within budget and with high quality.
- Own the day-to-day execution of the project schedule by proactively planning, sequencing work, and driving progress to meet key milestones.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager on master schedule execution and create 3‑week look‑ahead plans.
- Manage site logistics, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination to keep work moving efficiently.
- Enforce Erland’s Safety Program (daily site inspections, toolbox talks, safety meetings, documentation).
- Oversee jobsite quality control through inspections, mockups/samples, and QC best practices.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date jobsite documentation (plans/specs, submittals, field reports, photos, etc.).
- Lead and document subcontractor/foreman meetings and resolve field issues quickly.
- Serve as the on‑site point of contact with clients, architects/engineers, and inspectors/officials.
- Coordinate required inspections and support closeout/punch list/turnover activities.
- Mentor and direct field staff; set expectations and maintain a strong, productive crew culture.
- 5+ years experience as a Lead Construction Superintendent on large‑scale projects ($10M+ preferred).
- Strong multifamily residential construction experience required.
- Ability to lead and evaluate subcontractors and field personnel on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Strong working knowledge of construction disciplines, scheduling, cost control, field engineering, safety regulations, and quality control.
- Able to read and comprehend construction documents (plans/specs).
- Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License required.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
- OSHA 10‑hour training required (OSHA 30 preferred within one year).
- Comfortable using a computer and digital tools for documentation and communication (daily reports, photos, etc.).
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to physically maneuver on an active jobsite (ladders/rough terrain) and lift/carry equipment/materials as needed.
- Procore, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook experience preferred.
The anticipated base salary for the Project Superintendent role is $120,000 - $175,000. Please note that base pay is only one part of Erland’s total compensation package. Your actual salary will be determined by your unique skills, experience, education, and specific qualifications.
