Toddler Teacher for Sprouts Childcare Center

Seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Toddler Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 15 months to 3 years. The ideal candidate will support children’s developmental growth through age‑appropriate activities and positive interactions while maintaining compliance with all state regulations.

Our program is a play‑based early childhood program housed within one of the elementary schools in Burlington, Massachusetts. We operate on the Burlington Public Schools calendar and provide children with meaningful learning experiences through exploration, discovery, and hands‑on play.

The Toddler Teacher works collaboratively with colleagues, families, and school staff to support each child’s growth and development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide attentive care and supervision for children ages 15 months to 3 years.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
  • Foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Support daily routines, including diapering, toileting, feeding, and rest periods.
  • Observe and document children’s progress and developmental milestones.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding children’s daily activities and progress.
  • Follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
Qualifications
  • Must be qualified as a Teacher through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
  • Experience working with toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and actively engage with young children throughout the day.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This is a 10‑month position. Starting annual salary: $47,000, paid evenly over 26 pay periods throughout the year.

Salary includes compensation during scheduled school vacation weeks, weather‑related (snow day) closures, and major holidays.
