Software Engineer
COMSOL, Inc. is seeking a software developer to strengthen the development team in its Burlington, MA office. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in reacting flow and plasma physics. The primary responsibility of this position is to enhance the capability of the Plasma Module, an add-on product to COMSOL Multiphysics®. In this position you will identify and create new key features for the Plasma modeling toolset.
You will work with specification, implementation in Java, testing, documentation, and creating new example models relevant for industrial applications.
- Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or applied mathematics.
- Demonstrated experience in plasma physics, or reacting flow with a willingness to learn plasma physics.
- Demonstrated experience with mathematical modeling.
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid background in areas relevant to plasma physics: electromagnetism, heat transfer, surface chemistry, and kinetic theory.
- Demonstrated experience with numerical methods for transport problems.
- Familiarity with COMSOL Multiphysics®.
- Experience with user interface design.
