Your OpportunityStantec’s collaborative team partners with clients at all phases of the project lifecycle to bring designs to life that support and enhance communities. The Commissioning and Validation role focuses on confirming that building equipment and facilities meet design requirements and produce the expected results. This hands‑on position offers diverse responsibilities and growth across North America, from small renovations to large capital projects.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Perform commissioning/validation tasks, including reviewing shop drawings, equipment submittals, and lifecycle documents.
- Review designs, drawings, specifications of facilities, equipment, and automation to understand project scope and commissioning/validation requirements.
- Prepare commissioning/validation protocols that adhere to specifications, client templates, and lifecycle documents.
- Assist in executing commissioning/validation project protocols, resolve discrepancies, and generate final reports to close protocols.
- Assist the Director of Commissioning/Validation with client presentations, communications, and business‑development related to project deliverables.
- Coordinate with Stantec engineering and client disciplines to confirm alignment with the design intent.
- Recognize technical problems, initiate or escalate appropriate corrective actions.
- Attend project coordination meetings.
- Support project managers in managing scope and fees for Commissioning/Validation projects.
- Good organizational and time‑management skills.
- Self‑sufficient, self‑motivated, with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet assignment schedules and deliver quality products under pressure.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of related work experience is required. Travel to local office and client sites for project work is mandatory.

Pay Range- Minnesota, Ohio, Vermont, & various California & New York areas: $ – $ annually
- Washington, DC & various California & Massachusetts areas: $ – $ annually
- New York City & California (Bay Area) & New Jersey (RP): $ – $ annually
