Project Engineering Manager, Water & Wastewater

As the Project Engineering Manager for Water & Wastewater, you will manage execution of the engineering component of multiple traditional, design-build, design-bid-build, and collaborative delivery projects including advanced treatment facilities, underground conveyance, and carbon neutral solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a multi‑discipline team of engineers and technicians on high‑profile municipal projects.
- Supervise and mentor engineering staff, identifying developmental growth opportunities.
- Manage budgets, scheduling, and correspondence with clients and project management in support of projects.
- Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects.
- Conduct research to develop equipment and material recommendations.
- Oversee collection of data and management of engineering work.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements across multiple disciplines.
- Lead larger production teams, coordinate multiple discipline activities, and serve as the responsible charge for complex projects.
- Establish a workplan to be applied to a project.
- Identify key client interests and drivers for highly complex projects.
- Communicate client concerns to project team members and develop solutions.
- Provide support for business development or pursuit activities.
- Manage project changes directly with the client in coordination with Project Management.
- Lead large multi‑discipline teams to meet project deliverables.
- Serve as technical leader for complex water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Drive solutions to achieve project goals.
- May support the chief engineer and support discipline‑specific engineering processes.
- Review lower‑level engineering work or assignments.
- Handle hiring, mentoring, performance management, and pay administration of assigned personnel.
- PE license.
- Previous engineering consulting experience.
- Experience executing complex multi‑discipline WTP and WWTP upgrades and expansion projects.
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. All applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search as applicable.
Work Environment / Physical Demands- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
- Sitting/standing/computer usage for extended periods of time.
- Ability to utilize video/audio conferencing software tools for internal/external communication.
- Travel to client sites.
