TheOpportunity
- Focus on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects with a focus on the delivery of projects by leading significant portions of a variety of facilities throughout the cycle of design and construction, and startup phases as a technical specialist or lead
- Hands-on involvement in developing reports or technical memos, completing studies, detailed designs, and specifications, collaborating to complete cost estimates, and preparing contract documents
- Participation in scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration for infrastructure projects, including involvement in business development and preparation of proposals
- Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects
- Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers on less complex projects and communicate these to the project team

- Perform design of projects from conceptual and bid phase through design completion to meet project needs and requirements
- Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets
- Assist the Engineering Manager in managing sub-consultants
- Interface directly with the client or sub-consultants under the direction of the Engineering Manager
- Support business development through writing technical approaches, scopes of work, and client presentations
- Apply knowledge of civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the water engineering industry
- Develop non-standard design solutions to better serve project specifications
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced engineers
- Ensure effective communication with other engineering disciplines and project teams
- Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables
- Conduct research and make recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
- Prepare complex engineering calculations and manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements
- Plan and conduct evaluation and adaptation of engineering techniques and criteria
- Review engineering work and guidance for early career professionals
- Oversee data collection/management for engineering work; lead smaller production teams; or serve as the responsible charge for a project
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Licensed PE or actively pursuing PE registration
- Thorough understanding of water and wastewater design (infrastructure, conveyance, pump stations/lift stations)
- Ability and motivation to lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program
- Minimum of 1 year related work experience
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) as applicable by law
Professional engineering registration is preferred or in active pursuit
