Mechanical Designer/Drafter

Our client specializes in engineering and manufacturing of high-performance thermal components and cooling loop solutions — purpose-built for direct integration into AI, HPC, and mission-critical systems.

As a Mechanical Designer/Drafter on our team, you will document and support the assembly, commissioning, and scale up of our novel manufacturing equipment. In this role, you'll work closely with engineering and production to document and model complex electromechanical systems, design components and subassemblies, and help improve machine performance, system reliability, and ease of assembly as we scale.

You are an experienced professional and take pride in the quality of your drawings and 3D models. You are a detail-oriented, collaborative problem solver who can effectively communicate between design engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain. You will play a critical role in scaling the equipment for the Stack Forging process. This position requires a commitment of 4 days onsite per week.

Responsibilities

Design & Engineering Support

Create and maintain CAD parts, assemblies, and drawings using Solidworks while following company procedures on documentation and configuration management.

Maintain & update documentation of assembly processes, procedures, and machine/process issues as necessary.

Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) for mechanical assemblies and subsystems.

Process & Documentation

Create detailed part and assembly drawings utilizing GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards and internal company guidelines.

Assist with CAD library management (hardware, standard parts, configurations).

Record data using internal tracking tools.

Support migration and restructuring of legacy drawings and CAD data.

Collaboration

Work closely with Mechanical Engineers to understand design requirements, constraints, and participate in design reviews relating to the design, manufacturing, and assembly of complex mechanical systems.

Provide feedback to aid in continuous improvement efforts.

Collaborate with machine design and process engineers to document and support changes to machines, correct Bills of Material, and assembly challenges.

Skills & Qualifications

Associates degree or technical certification in Mechanical Drafting, CAD Technology, or related discipline.

3+ years of experience using Solid Works for 3D modeling and drawing creation.

Strong understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Experience working with PDM (Product Data Management) systems.

Experience updating existing drawings and documentation to within change management systems (i.e. Engineering Change Orders/ECOs, etc.).

History of completing tasks efficiently, effectively, and with good attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

Experience with vacuum, laser, hydraulic, machine tools, or robotics.

Experience and knowledge of any of the following: metrology, inspection, spreadsheet software.

Experience working with sheet metal, CNC machined parts, pneumatic systems, and prototyping in a manufacturing environment.

High attention to detail and good organizational skills.

A strong sense of workmanship and ownership over systems to which you have been assigned.

Familiarity with electrical wiring diagrams and basic electrical schematics.

This is a Contract position based out of Burlington, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
