Viken Detection seeks a Senior System Engineer to lead system architecture, integration, and validation for advanced X-ray imaging and detection products used in security, law enforcement, transportation, and industrial settings. In this hands-on role, you'll own the full system lifecycle-from requirements and design through test and deployment-collaborating closely with hardware, software, and mechanical teams. You'll perform modeling, trades, and FMEA, drive compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and troubleshoot complex field issues.

Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, and optimize system architectures for advanced X-ray imaging and detection products
- Lead end-to-end system engineering lifecycle from requirements, design, and analysis to verification and validation
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless subsystem integration and performance
- Develop and maintain system requirements, specifications, interface control documents, and test plans
- Perform system modeling, trade studies, and FMEA to balance performance, cost, reliability, and safety
- Support prototype builds, lab testing, and field trials; analyze data and drive system-level improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards relevant to security and industrial systems
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders
- Troubleshoot complex system issues in production and customer environments and implement robust fixes
- Partner with product management and customers to translate mission needs into system capabilities and roadmaps
