Direct Care Worker

MHA's New Way residences offer a pioneering approach to comprehensive 24/7 care, providing a more affordable and meaningful community alternative to institutional care in nursing homes. Each residence houses four adults with cognitive, mental health, or physical challenges resulting from injury or illness. Our professional residential support specialists are trained and certified in medication administration, first aid, CPR, and other relevant skills.

Additional services such as nursing, clinical, physical, and occupational therapy support the health and wellness of residents. Health care coordination is a key part of our work.

We are currently seeking relief direct care workers for our New Way Services (NWS) residential programs on a per diem, as-needed basis. Relief staff must work at least 2 shifts per month, excluding meetings and training, and will be on-call to fill shifts across the programs as needed.

• Availability to pick up shifts as necessary, with a minimum of 2 shifts per month
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable vehicle for work hours
• Auto insurance with your name listed as an insured driver
• Acceptable driving record (no more than 3 violations in the past 3 years)
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass and maintain certifications in medication administration (MAP), CPR, and First Aid
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with a team
• Comfort with a person-centered approach and adaptability to support changing needs
