Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) reports to the MCI Director and provides clinical and operational leadership in an Urgent Care Center that provides both mobile and on-site assessment and support, to adults, youth, and families in community settings in the catchment area. This role includes direct supervision of staff, crisis de-escalation, collaboration and coordination with other agencies and community partners to support individuals experiencing mental health crises all in partnership with the MCI Director.
S/he works as a partner in an integrated urgent care/emergency support services network, contributing to Bay Cove’s mission by working effectively with clients, family members, police, community partners, and the mobile crisis team in a professional, hopeful, and respectful manner to ensure that client’s needs are being met.
This is an exempt position.

Essential Functions of Position:
Participate as a member of the clinical leadership team including the Director, the Assistant Director and Clinical who together collaborate to hire, train and oversee staff, student interns and support/peer personnel.
In cooperation with the Director, provides oversight of the daily operations of both the Adult and Youth Urgent Care Centers including scheduling, completion of tasks, case assignments, follow up and required documentation.
Oversee the training of new staff members to ensure they are oriented to their role and the UCC, complete required training, and meet benchmarks in order to begin solo work.
Provides clinical and administrative supervision to the staff including progressive disciplinary action, evaluation, and support of the professional development of those staff members.
Conduct assessments and provides oversight of ongoing case management of active mobile crisis intervention cases including ensuring completion of tasks, follow up, and case assignments along with the Clinical Supervisors.
Working effectively with state agencies, payers, police, building security, EMS and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate care and safety of all individuals served.
Provides consultation throughout the evaluation process including all components of assessment and the treatment planning including risk and safety planning and mental status exams specific to acute psychiatric conditions for youth and adults.
Provides on-call coverage for clinical or administrative emergencies on a rotational basis (24/7/365 coverage).
Perform all other duties and projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements for the Position:
LICSW, LMHC, or other behavioral health category which qualifies as an Independently Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts is required.
At least three years of experience providing services to individuals with mental health challenges is required with a preference for emergency services and/or crisis stabilization experience required.
At least two years of supervisory and management experience is required.
Demonstrated ability to de-escalate crises in a manner that ensures safety for all involved and to provide for the best care and welfare of the person in crisis.
Demonstrated knowledge of the evaluation process, including presenting problems, social, family, psychiatric, legal, and medical history. Capacity to effectively assess mental status, formulate a plan, and develop and implement an appropriate disposition for all clients.
