Overview
Under the direction of the BFS Director of Operations, the Service Line Practice Administrator is responsible for the overall administrative and clinical functions necessary to support the effective day-to-day operations of all Service Line locations as assigned. He/she will also provide administrative coverage at other BFS practice sites during times of vacation and absences of other site Administrators. This position is responsible for understanding all aspects of the practice including, but not limited to, financial, physician compensation including incentive systems, pay for performance, coding/compliance and credentialing, participation in internal/external committees and is expected to manage physician relationships and issues collaboratively with physician leadership.
He/she is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all assigned practice site activity. Develops and monitors budgets for designated areas. Responsible for fiscal and revenue cycle management, patient satisfaction, provider productivity, EMR implementation, management and quality performance. In addition, the Service Line Practice Administrator is directly responsible for the recruitment, hiring, supervision, performance, discipline and scheduling of the staff.
Qualifications Experience
- Five (5) years physician office experience or demonstrated knowledge of physician office operations and revenue systems required.
- Five (5) years supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership in a physician practice setting required.
- Bachelor's Degree in business or healthcare related field required.
- Additional, proven, significant related experience may be substituted.
- N/A
- Knowledge of professional services/billing/coding.
- Knowledge of clinical quality improvement indicators.
- Ability to manage staff and processes related to general administrative and operational systems.
- Understanding and knowledge of Practice workflow re‑design, EMR, operations and integration of hospital based services.
- Understanding of clinical functions relative to a physician office practice.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Windows based and Microsoft Office environments and other applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
- Knowledge of budget development and productivity information.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation in order to commute to other practice sites.
