Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Float Pool Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring Epic experience, independent telemetry strip reading, and a Massachusetts RN license.

Job Details

• Float pool position serving multiple inpatient units within a hospital setting,

• Patient populations include ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units,

• Patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5 depending on unit assignment,

• No monitor techs on unit - nurses must independently read and interpret telemetry strips,

• 12-hour rotating shifts, alternating between days (7a-7:30p) and nights (7p-7:30a) in 4-week blocks,

• Floating occurs in 4-hour blocks during shifts,

• Every other weekend is required (day shift: Sat/Sun; night shift: Fri/Sat/Sun),

• Epic EMR experience required,

• 8-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required and must be in hand,

• Current BLS certification (AHA) required,

• ACLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications preferred,

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required,

• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry/ECG strips required,

• Epic EMR experience required,

• Level 1 trauma experience preferred; required if candidate has no prior travel nursing experience,

• COVID vaccine with booster and flu vaccine required (medical exemptions accepted),

Additional Information

• Day-one pass/fail testing will be administered covering telemetry/ECG and medication competencies;
Relias practice tests will be available in advance,

• All previous employees of any Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) facility - including travel, per diem, and permanent staff - must have a minimum 6-month break before being considered for this position,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible,

• Flu vaccine documentation required during flu season
