Job Description:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist partners closely with hiring managers and leadership to support full-cycle recruiting efforts across assigned departments. This role is responsible for developing job postings, sourcing and screening qualified candidates, coordinating interviews, and supporting offer negotiation and onboarding activities. The recruiter also helps strengthen recruiting strategies, maintains applicant tracking systems, and provides reporting and metrics to support hiring decisions and process improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive the recruiting process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and advising on final candidate selection for assigned departments.
- Partner with management to develop job postings, recruitment strategies, and role competencies.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with hiring managers and other internal stakeholders.
- Source candidates through multiple channels, including social media, career fairs, agencies, recruiting contractors, and other sourcing tools.
- Evaluate employment factors such as experience, education, training, skills, knowledge, and abilities to support classification, selection, and referral decisions.
- Negotiate offers and prepare salary recommendations as needed.
- Manage applicant tracking systems and maintain accurate candidate records, reports, and metrics analysis.
- Support applicant assessments, reference checks, background checks, drug testing, and onboarding coordination.
- Educate managers on the hiring process and recruiting tools, and recommend process improvements where appropriate.
- Attend job fairs, campus recruiting events, and diversity recruiting events as required.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in an engineering and/or research and development environment.
- Experience using social media and current sourcing tools and methods, including Boolean Internet search and Linked In.
- Strong attention to detail in organizing, managing, and tracking candidate flow.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to present new recruiting concepts to a talent acquisition team.
- Experience with virtual recruiting platforms and virtual interviewing methods.
- General knowledge of current employment laws and practices.
- Proficiency with web-based applicant tracking systems, recruitment platforms, and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel as needed for job fairs, campus recruiting, and diversity events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field required, or equivalent directly related experience.
