Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dev Ops engineer to join a team of highly skilled Systems, Site Reliability, and Dev Ops Engineers focused on service availability, performance, and security compliance for Salesforce's Government Cloud infrastructure. The role emphasizes proactive enhancements, troubleshooting, governance, and advanced prompt engineering to ensure AI-driven outputs are reliable, secure, and production-ready.
Responsibilities- Lead projects in design, development, and post-release support of Salesforce platform tools used by internal teams to support government customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to iterate automated CI/CD pipelines, maintain service owner feature velocity, and reproduce issues reported in production.
- Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software with AI as a core part of the development workflow, delivering secure and optimized code.
- Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows to drive efficiency at scale.
- Contribute to a shared system context repository that enables AI to operate accurately and reliably.
- Critically evaluate code (human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Demonstrate ownership of your areas and proactively advance progress.
- Gain understanding of large-scale production infrastructure within third-party cloud providers.
- Automate governance processes and create/maintain detailed documentation.
- Improve influence and collaboration with other infrastructure teams across Salesforce.
- Collaborate with a team of developers, open-source contributors, and architects; research and develop tools as needed.
- Proven expertise in AWS environments, including infrastructure build and optimization; familiarity with VPCs, transit gateways, security groups, and route tables.
- 3+ years deploying distributed applications with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, GKE).
- 3+ years in infrastructure as code and configuration management (Terraform and/or Ansible).
- 3+ years Linux system engineering experience.
- 2+ years developing or managing infrastructure and application security for highly sensitive data (IAM, CI/CD, PKI).
- 3+ years deploying with CI orchestration services (Spinnaker, Jenkins).
- 2+ years scripting/programming (Shell, Python, Golang).
- Experience with log management and analytics tools (Splunk, ELK).
- Demonstrated AI-first approach to engineering and experience using AI tools in development workflows.
- Strong analytical skills and commitment to ongoing professional development; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Background in production service management, on-call rotations, and monitoring/alerting of service-specific SLIs/SLOs.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana or Prometheus.
- Experience integrating security and compliance into pipelines (OPA, Checkov, Twistlock, Prisma).
