Job Description
Buyer II – Supply Chain
Summary: The Buyer II is a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for procuring materials efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Place and manage purchase orders, including rescheduling, expediting, and push-outs.
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve discrepant material issues.
- Generate and maintain open order reports.
- Coordinate with Production, Receiving, Warehouse, and other internal teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Lead projects to improve material flow processes (e.g., Kanban, bulk issue).
- Support the Persimmon discrepant material process.
- Travel to supplier locations as required (approx. 20%, domestic/local).
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and MRP processes.
- Experience managing inventory and non-inventory items across multiple suppliers.
- Knowledge of material flow processes (Kanban, bulk issue, etc.) and supplier issue resolution.
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word).
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
Salary range: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00
