** Directs the activities of a software systems development function, software applications development function and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
** Scope:
Lead strategies globally
*** Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area or a major product group within a Business Unit.
* Recognized as an influential leader within a function or Business Unit or Company.
* Detailed knowledge of company allows for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas.
* Manages teams located in more than one site within a region or globally.
* Develops corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes their implementation.
* Makes decisions on administrative or operational matters including staff and budgets.
* Direct control over spend budget
* Impact on P&L activities.
** Job Complexity:
*** Works on complex issues where analysis of situations across functional areas, or data requires an in-depth knowledge of Broadcom.
* Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people, providing strategy and direction for major functional areas.
* Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
** Discretion:
*** Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional or organizational operations (may potentially impact Broadcom's success).
** Reporting Relationship:
*** Typically reports to a Vice President.

Job Description:

**** Compensation and Benefits
** The annual base salary range for this position is $174,400 - $279,000.  This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
