Sr. Production Planner – Engineered Solutions
Gabriele & Company is working with a Burlington, MA area advanced engineered systems manufacturer seeking an experienced Sr. Production Planner to manage production planning functions while maintaining lean inventory and meeting customer commitments.
Our client engineers and manufactures sophisticated thermal management solutions for demanding applications. Their products involve precision machining, fabrication, and assembly of complex engineered components serving technology-intensive industries.
This role serves as the critical link between sales commitments and manufacturing execution. You'll develop master production schedules that balance customer requirements with inventory optimization while managing order backlogs, forecasts, and supply constraints.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain master production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize inventory
- Lead and mentor buyer-planner team members
- Translate supply chain data into actionable timelines for sales teams
- Identify capacity constraints and drive solutions proactively
- Release work orders based on MRP signals and kanban triggers
- Support new product introductions with materials and capacity planning
- Resolve inventory discrepancies and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure material availability
- Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve production targets
- 5+ years production planning or master scheduling experience in manufacturing environments involving machining, fabrication, and assembly operations
- Experience with multi-level BOMs (50+ parts), work order releases, and shop floor scheduling
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficiency with MS Teams and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel required)
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, MRP, inventory management, and Kanban systems
- Experience managing competing priorities in make-to-order or mixed MTO/MTS environments
