Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering, Electronics Technician
Test Technician - Cooling performance limits high‑power computing, semi‑conductor fab, cell networks, photonics, power electronics, and most of our digital world. Alloy Enterprises enables customers to break through these constraints with novel complex metal components that dramatically improve heat dissipation in high‑performance systems. Alloy’s patented Stack Forging™ process enables complex micro‑geometries, resulting in single‑piece, leak‑tight parts that deliver superior cooling performance, lower pressure drops, and exceptional reliability.
Founded in 2020, Alloy is a 45‑person hard‑tech startup that has raised over $50M in capital and is shipping components to customers manufacturing servers, lasers, semiconductor equipment, and defense systems.
The Test Technician is responsible for the controlled assembly and verification of liquid cooling hardware, including cooling plates and fully integrated cooling loops. This role supports production by ensuring assemblies are built in accordance with released work instructions and validated through standardized test methods for leakage, flow performance, pressure drop, and thermal behavior. This work supports both low‑volume development efforts and higher‑volume production programs.
Work is performed within an ISO
9001‑compliant and ITAR‑controlled manufacturing environment. This role requires 5 days onsite per week.
- Assemble cooling plates and complete cooling loop systems in accordance with released work instructions and controlled documentation.
- Install and verify fluid fittings, tubing, manifolds, and sealing interfaces; ensure proper torque application and sealing integrity.
- Maintain repeatability and consistency across specimens; handle components in accordance with cleanliness and quality requirements.
- Execute functional test procedures to confirm product performance, operating characteristics, and support test equipment such as flow measurement systems, pressure instrumentation, thermal test setups (including installing thermocouples on cold plates), and data acquisition tools.
- Document test results in accordance with quality system requirements; follow company policies, safety regulations, personal protective equipment requirements, and Good Manufacturing Procedures.
- Review and update manufacturing records and work orders, identify and correct errors, and submit finished documentation for quality release.
- Perform quality checks and inspections on final parts and test material properties.
- Support troubleshooting efforts and provide feedback to improve processes and identify issues.
- Support inventory tracking, shipping, and receiving.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or an associate’s degree in a mechanical, manufacturing, or related discipline preferred.
- 3–6 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical assembly, fluid systems, and functional testing environments.
- Experience assembling pressure‑containing or fluid‑based systems; familiarity with threaded fluid connections.
- Experience working with O‑ring and gasket sealing practices; experience using torque tools and standard inspection equipment.
- Ability to follow controlled procedures and work instructions.
- Functional testing experience with fluid systems (preferred).
- Experience with leak testing methods such as pressure decay and helium leak checking (preferred).
- Familiarity with flow or pressure‑based test setups (preferred).
- Familiarity with common thermal testing methods such as surface thermocouples (preferred).
- Ability to operate a computer‑based data acquisition system and interpret basic test data (preferred).
- Experience working in ISO‑controlled or other regulated manufacturing environments (preferred).
- Ability to work within ITAR‑controlled environments.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs independently and up to 50lbs with assistance.
- Familiarity with metrology, 3D printing, robotics, CNC machining, and spreadsheet software is a plus.
