What You’ll Do:
Alloy is looking for a hard‑working and detail‑oriented Production Shift Supervisor to manage the 3rd shift. This role works within the Part Production team building parts for our customers at Alloy’s part production facility.
Who You Are:
You are a hands‑on manufacturing leader who is comfortable owning the floor during off‑shift production. You lead from the front, work directly with technicians and operators, and understand that strong shift performance comes from clear priorities, disciplined execution, safe work practices, and attention to the details of the process. You are dependable, technically curious, and calm under pressure. You can make practical decisions with limited support, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and elevate concerns clearly when needed.
You take pride in keeping production moving while maintaining quality, documentation accuracy, and safety standards.
- Work alongside technicians and operators to fabricate aluminum components using Alloy’s novel metal manufacturing systems, including laser cutting, bonding presses, and sheet handling equipment.
- Manage resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is maintained at all times.
- Run and tune proprietary software programs to optimize production processes.
- Complete initial prototype builds, analyze results, and refine component designs.
- Work closely with Applications, Engineering, Software, and Manufacturing teams to run production builds.
- Perform quality assessments according to customer specifications.
- Provide feedback to identify problems and improve production throughput, cost, product quality, and process safety.
- Maintain process documentation, including test procedures, routers, travelers, process flows, work instructions, and PFMEAs.
- Inform facility layout to ensure efficient and productive manufacturing flow.
- Manage a team of production technicians to ensure safe and efficient task completion.
- Hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes and detailed procedural development.
- Prior direct or indirect leadership in a manufacturing setting.
- 5+ years of industry experience in manufacturing.
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Track record of developing and maintaining process documentation.
- High dedication, punctuality, and reliability.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing, 3D printing, robotics, metal fabrication, or industrial automation.
- Proven ability to work with minimal additional leadership or engineering support in the factory.
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- B.S. in engineering or a relevant field.
