Production Technician, 1st Shift

As a Builder on the Stack Forging Thermal Solutions team at Johnson Controls, you will work within the Part Production team building parts for customers at Alloy’s part production facility.

In this role, you will report to the Director of Part Production and lead the 3rd shift, ensuring smooth operations and high quality standards.

• Work alongside technicians and operators to fabricate components using Alloy’s metal manufacturing systems, including laser cutting, bonding presses, and sheet handling equipment.
• Manage resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements and lean manufacturing principles.
• Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace at all times.
• Run and tune proprietary software programs to optimize production processes.
• Complete initial prototype builds, analyze results, and refine component designs.
• Collaborate with Applications, Engineering, Software, and Manufacturing teams to run production builds.
• Perform quality assessments according to customer specifications.
• Provide feedback to identify problems and improve production throughput, cost, product quality, and process safety.
• Maintain process documentation, including test procedures, routers, travelers, process flows, work instructions, and PFMEAs.
• Inform facility layout to ensure efficient and productive manufacturing flow.
• Manage a team of production technicians to ensure safe and efficient task completion.

• Hands‑on manufacturing leader with 5+ years of industry experience and prior indirect or direct leadership in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools.
• Track record of developing and maintaining process documentation.
• High level of dedication, punctuality, and reliability.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing, 3D printing, robotics, metal fabrication, or industrial automation.
• Proven ability to work with minimal additional leadership or engineering support in the factory.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment and processes.
• BS in an engineering or relevant field.

Salary range: $67,900 – $101,900, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Competitive bonus plan and benefits package.
