Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our Boston-based marketing technology company is seeking an Event Marketing Manager for an immediate full-time contract position through the end of May, with potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role. We’re looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in event marketing, preferably working with small businesses and activation-focused initiatives. Familiarity with Exhibit Force is a plus.
This role requires a valid passport, as international travel to Canada for a large-scale event is part of the responsibilities.
What You'll Do
- Event Planning & Execution – Lead on-site event operations, ensuring smooth execution from pre-event setup to post-event wrap-up. Oversee promotions, communications, logistics, staffing coordination, and inventory management.
- Brand Engagement & Activation – Act as the on-the-ground representative, fostering brand engagement with event attendees and bringing the company's presence to life in key markets.
- Collaboration & Coordination – Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and field staff, to align event strategies with broader business goals.
- Logistics & Vendor Management – Oversee event logistics, coordinate with venues, manage shipments, and liaise with external vendors and agencies such as Viper, Shepard, Freeman, or Arribada for on-site setup and execution.
- Event Calendar & Research – Maintain an updated calendar of confirmed events and activations while continuously identifying new sponsorship and event opportunities that align with business objectives.
- On-Site Troubleshooting – Prepare for potential challenges and implement contingency plans to ensure successful event execution.
- Post-Event Analysis – Conduct event follow-ups, including performance reporting, insights gathering, and recommendations for future improvements.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 5-7 years of event marketing experience, preferably in the small business sector.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to juggle multiple events simultaneously.
- Experience managing on-site logistics, vendor coordination, and staffing assignments.
- Ability to market directly to event attendees, enhancing engagement and brand awareness.
- Familiarity with Exhibit Force or similar online event management platforms.
- Background in working with event logistics companies such as Viper, Shepard, Freeman, or Arribada is a plus.
- Valid passport required for international travel to Canada for a key event.
- Willingness to travel as needed (expenses covered) and the ability to hit the ground running.
- Ideally based in Boston, but open to remote candidates with travel flexibility.
- Contract Duration: Through May 31st, 2025 (potential for extension or contract-to-hire).
- Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Pay Rate: $30-$35/hour
