Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Burlington, MA
Assignment Length: 8 Weeks
Start Date: 03/16/2026
Shift: Nights
Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Fri–Sun for night shifts)

Unit Overview:

• Level 1 Trauma Center

• Progressive Care Unit (Step-Down) with patient ratios 1:3–1:5

• High-acuity patient population requiring pressor titration and advanced monitoring

• Floating to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units in 4-hour blocks as needed

Position Overview:
The PCU RN provides advanced nursing care for intermediate and high-acuity patients in a progressive care/step-down setting. This role requires experience titrating pressors and strong critical care skills. Epic EMR experience is required. First-day pass/fail testing will be administered;
Relias practice tests are available.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor, assess, and manage progressive care patients, including titration of pressors per protocol

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care

• Float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units as needed

• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR

• Participate in ongoing professional development and complete required testing

• Provide high-quality care in a Level 1 Trauma environment

• Adhere to hospital safety and clinical guidelines

Qualifications:

• Active RN license required

• Epic EMR experience required

• Experience in progressive care or step-down units

• Pressor titration experience required

• BLS – AHA required

• ACLS – AHA preferred

• NIHSS preferred

• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred; required for first-time travelers
