Position: Clinical Lab Process Development Associate I- Cell Factory

Clinical Laboratory Process Development Associate I

In support of continually changing initiatives, the Clinical Laboratory Process Development Associate I is committed to carrying out innovative, high-throughput lab processes and supporting the highest quality research to understand the impacts of genetic regulation on human health and disease. In this role, you are responsible for processing samples through a high-throughput clinical research laboratory and meeting production goals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain and optimize mammalian cell culture systems for screening experiments.
  • Apply functional genomics techniques, including epigenomics, single-cell, transcriptomics, and CRISPR-based assays in human cells and tissues.
  • Follow standard operating procedures.
  • Perform high complexity tests authorized by the Laboratory Director, requiring a level of skill commensurate with education, training, and experience.
  • Exercise independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision, as directed by the laboratory director or supervisor.
  • Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.
  • Address test systems that fall outside established acceptable levels of performance and report problems to the appropriate supervisor or director.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from performance specifications.
  • Review and monitor quality metrics and communicate results to team members during dedicated meetings as needed.
  • Assist with the general supervision of other laboratory personnel such as Process Development Technicians and Accessioning Technicians as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • BS/BA degree in Biology or Chemistry.
  • 1+ years of full‑time laboratory experience in this specialty after obtaining a B.S./B.A. degree.
  • Solid knowledge of basic aseptic/mammalian cell culture laboratory techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and innovation skills.
  • Recent (within the last year) experience with standard cell lab equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, and gel electrophoresis.
  • Knowledge of high‑throughput screening, automation, and/or experience working in a high‑throughput production setting is desired.
  • Experience with genome editing tools, including CRISPR targeting in various human cell types, is preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience in molecular biology, genomics, and cellular biology (cell‑based assays) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with single‑cell sequencing methods is preferred.
  • Experience with iPSCs, cell lines, and/or primary cell culture is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base pay range for this position is based on a 40‑hour per week schedule. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, education, and other permissible factors.
