Job Description
The VMware Cloud Foundation Division enables organizations worldwide to run their business‑critical and modern applications in a secure, resilient, and cost‑efficient manner. With our flagship VMware vSphere and leading technologies such as vSAN, NSX, VCF Automation, and VCF Operations, customers realize the scale and agility of a public cloud while benefiting from the security and performance of a private cloud.
As a member of the VCF Automation team, you will build software solutions that power private cloud infrastructure and provide our customers with self‑service consumption of Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure resources “as a Service” while maintaining control, security, and compliance.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality features and enhancements to customers.
- Design, develop, and enhance Java‑based microservices running in a containerized environment.
- Participate in the enterprise SDLC process and uphold quality and security standards for VCF platform releases.
- Prioritize the success of existing and potential customers by providing prompt consultation and support, driving open issues to conclusion with urgency.
- Engage in effective code reviews and cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, product, and release management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 8+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of industry experience.
- Strong fundamentals in Distributed Systems, Concurrency, Clustering, and multi‑threaded systems.
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes components, APIs, containerization, and virtualization.
- Proficiency with tools such as Git Hub, Maven, and Jenkins.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills with a "whatever it takes" attitude.
- Understanding of enterprise SDLC processes and willingness to engage throughout the lifecycle.
Annual base salary range: $108,000 – $172,800. Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and equity awards. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(K) participation with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company‑paid holidays, paid sick leave, vacation time, and compliance with applicable Paid Family Leave laws.
