Lead Development Engineer
Burlington, Massachusetts
Responsibilities- Focus on design and implementation of new features for the Signify IoT platform.
- Contribute to technology selection and best‑practice creation for building, debugging, testing, releasing, managing and securing the cloud‑based, microservices‑based data infrastructure of the IoT Platform.
- Define common frameworks and software libraries across multiple programming languages to support efficient, scalable, and highly available microservice architectures.
- Support diagnostics, troubleshooting and operation of the cloud‑based IoT Platform system.
- Collaborate with architects and technical product managers to translate system architecture and product requirements into well‑designed, implemented and tested software solutions.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high‑quality software incrementally.
- Promote adoption of best‑in‑class software engineering practices, frameworks and tools.
- Review and approve design and implementation of various IoT Platform components.
- Mentor and train new team members on technologies and best practices used by the team.
- Work directly with customers to review requirements and troubleshoot production issues.
- Local telecommuting permitted.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field and at least 3 years of experience.
- 2+ years of experience that must include:
- Developing microservices and complex microservice‑based platform architectures.
- Distributed systems, designing for scalability, performance, and availability.
- Establishing non‑functional best practices and deploying supporting technologies for platform security and reliability.
- Experience with data lakes and data warehouses.
- Containers and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Experience with at least one leading cloud technology: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- CI/CD automation.
- Proficiency in Java and Python.
- Data persistence technologies, including relational databases and No
SQL solutions. - Apache Spark.
- Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
- Maven and Jenkins.
- Local telecommuting permitted.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.
CompensationSalary: $154,606 - $172,887.
