The Teacher oversees daily operations, including planning and carrying out activities, maintaining the classroom environment, and supervising staff, children, parent/teacher conferences, and classroom volunteers. The Teacher encourages family involvement, arranges parent/teacher conferences, assists students with assignments, works in small groups, and supervises children during meal times.

The Teacher treats colleagues and students with respect and dignity, promotes culturally competent care, provides leadership to staff, ensures State and Federal compliance, completes documentation and reports, attends required staff meetings, completes 15 hours of professional development annually, and reports suspected child/elder abuse and neglect per New Jersey guidelines. The Teacher serves as a role model in interactions with staff, colleagues, and funding sources.

• High School Diploma required
• Associate’s Degree preferred with Early Childhood Credit
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred with Early Childhood Credit
• 2 years of supervisory experience in a classroom setting
• Must meet current Mosaic Early Learning Mandates
• Maintains First Aid and CPR certifications
• Motor vehicle record evaluations and medical clearances may be required.
