The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled R&D Test Specialist to join the System Integration and Testing team. In this hands‑on role, you will be a key contributor in the testing and validation of our cutting‑edge robotics hardware and software systems. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure the capability, reliability and quality of our products by executing detailed test plans, documenting results, and identifying issues.
This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in our San Francisco warehouse and office.
- Perform hands‑on hardware and software tests for our robotics and automation systems.
- Conduct testing based on engineering test plans, including functional, performance, and durability tests.
- Accurately record and document test results, observations, and issues, data logging with Google Sheets and other digital tools.
- Collaborate with engineers to debug and troubleshoot problems identified during testing.
- Set up, maintain, and calibrate test fixtures and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical test plan documents to ensure proper test execution.
- Use and modify Python scripts to automate test procedures and analyze data.
- Provide clear and concise written and verbal communication to the engineering team on test status and findings.
- Maintain a safe and organized lab and testing environment.
- Proven experience in a hands‑on technical role, with a strong background in testing hardware and/or software systems.
- Familiarity with Python scripting for data collection and test automation.
- Strong understanding of data logging and analysis, with proficiency in using tools like Google Sheets or similar platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable using the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and technical specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A "can‑do" attitude and a passion for hands‑on problem‑solving.
- Willing and able to work on‑site 5 days a week in our San Francisco locations.
- Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
$30.00 - $36.00/hr
