Oversight of maintenance operations and technical support in a cutting‑edge e‑commerce fulfillment facility.

Role Summary

Lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the uptime, safety and operational excellence of autonomous warehouse automation systems, while coordinating with site leadership and engineering teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead & inspire: schedule, prioritize tasks and delegate assignments to the maintenance team. Mentor technicians to foster a culture of extreme ownership and technical excellence.
  • Bridge hardware & software: oversee repairs on advanced robotics and material handling equipment, and work with engineering to troubleshoot hardware‑software mismatches.
  • Own the data: drive adoption of digital workflow and record accurate work orders, parts usage and time tracking.
  • Maximize uptime: develop and enforce rigorous preventative maintenance programs to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Inventory control: manage parts inventory, tools and supplies; coordinate with management and distribution to ensure critical spares are stocked.
  • Safety champion: enforce safety procedures, OSHA standards and SOPs; actively identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Technical documentation: read, interpret and train technicians on complex schematics, diagrams, manuals and advanced engineering documentation.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance/repair experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role within an automated fulfillment or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret advanced safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical diagrams and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to deliver clear directives to technicians, draft performance reports and brief upper management and engineering representatives.
  • Tech‑savvy operator: proficient in navigating computer systems and modern software ecosystems.
Additional Requirements
  • High‑agency problem solving: ability to solve practical problems and thrive in environments with limited standardization; collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions under pressure.
  • Advanced technical aptitude: experience with complex automation systems, PLCs, firmware updates or robotics infrastructure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: give and receive constructive criticism, manage team dynamics and maintain professionalism to sustain warehouse uptime.
  • Regular use of hand tools, reach into tight spaces and constant team communication via radios or phones.
  • Comfortable working and walking at elevated heights with appropriate fall protection equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical work: stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift 20–40 lb routinely and lift >50 lb occasionally.
  • Openness to on‑call/stand‑by, overtime, weekends and holidays to support a 24/7 autonomous network.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic warehouse with variable temperatures, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and risk of electric shock.
Compensation

$85,000 – $95,000 a year; generous equity also provided.
