Dockworker

Dockworker Position

Hiring dockworkers to load and unload trailers in our fast-paced warehouse environment.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Proper loading in and out of trailers
• Handling goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage
• Sorting and labeling skids and placing in proper locations
• Performing inventory count based on bills of lading, trailer manifests or packing slips when loading and unloading goods and when loading and unloading shipments and returns
• Assisting drivers in loading/unloading of goods or equipment
• Performing daily routine inspection to forklift
• Maintaining good housekeeping around dock area
• Stacking goods neatly and safely
• Submitting needed reports and information in a timely manner
• Performing basic arithmetical calculations including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
• Assisting supervisor in providing on the job training to new staff, participants, clients and volunteers
• Loading and securing shipments according to proper procedure
• Understanding and implementing safe, efficient freight handling and lifting procedures
• Regular and reliable attendance is required
• Other duties as assigned
