We’re looking for motivated students to be part of a dynamic 11‑week paid internship where you’ll work on impactful projects and gain real‑world experience, all while supporting our mission to improve health and improve lives.

Hours:
Monday–Friday / 40 hours per week
- Support key daily payroll tax audit responsibilities.
- Assist with multiple concurrent projects and ensure assigned work is completed accurately and on time.
- Support the reconciliation of quarter‑end and year‑end payroll tax filings.
- Learn the processes used to process payroll, withhold taxes, and report employee and employer tax withholding to regulatory agencies.
- Support quarterly and annual processes used to report earnings to employees and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in training to develop a deeper understanding of Federal, State, and Local payroll tax regulations.
- Collaborate with Payroll Tax team members and internal and external colleagues to support payroll tax processes and projects.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Working towards a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience or interest in tax and payroll tax processes.
- Interest in taxation is a plus.
- Experience with Workday and payroll systems is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects or assignments in an academic or professional setting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external colleagues.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to actively participate in training and apply newly learned skills.

About the TeamThe Payroll Tax Team supports Labcorp’s payroll tax processes by adhering to applicable legislation and regulatory requirements and helping ensure employee and employer tax liabilities are reported and paid to regulatory agencies in a timely manner. The team also supports employee tax setup, validates payroll tax results, responds to employee questions, and helps ensure payroll systems remain current with applicable regulatory updates.
As a member of the team, the intern will gain exposure to payroll processing, tax withholding, regulatory reporting, payroll tax audits, and quarter‑end and year‑end reconciliation processes while developing an understanding of Federal, State, and Local payroll tax requirements.
