Building Duty Supervisor - Hartley Drive Family YMCA

Description:POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Association Sports Director, the Building Duty Supervisor is responsible for the safety of the members while they are inside the building. Building duty walks the building hourly to check for maintenance issues, locks and unlocks rooms if necessary and maintains a healthy relationship with the members through customer service and problem solving.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Adheres and complies with the YMCA of High Point Employee Manual, Policy & Procedures Manual, and Code of Conduct including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency preparedness.2. Opens or closes the building for the day as trained.3. Unlocks the doors for the staff and members if there is an event or rental scheduled.4. Monitors the whole building for any maintenance issues and documents the issue on a maintenance request form.5. Documents any safety, behavioral, incidents or issues with appropriate forms.6. Turns on or off the lights to all common areas, locker rooms, bathrooms, and childcare areas.7. Walks through the building and all areas at least once an hour.8. Assists staff and members throughout the building with questions or concerns that may arise, some situations may arise that require use of conflict resolution skills.9. Responds immediately to emergencies within the building securing the situation or notifying the proper authorities or EMS Unit.10. Utilizes the logbook for proper recording of activities.11. Alerts supervisor of any emergencies or issues during your shift.12. Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and staff training as scheduled by supervisors and leadership staff.13. Assists with setting up sports equipment.14. Wears YMCA attire and nametag so that the members and guest can easily identify you for questions/concerns.15. Conducts behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on the YMCA.16. Participates with other members of management in the YMCA’s fundraising campaign.17. Performs other duties and tasks as requested by immediate supervisor to facilitate efficient and effective production of the YMCA.Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be 21 years of age.2. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within the first 30 days.3. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.4. Must be able to walk and stand up for the duration of the shift and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.5. Ability to respond in emergency situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor
and outdoor locations. Abundant walking, climbing stairs and ability to set up various sports equipment.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple programs/projects.
