Labcorp is seeking an Intern – Project Specialist to join our Denial Workflow and Automation Team located in Burlington, NC with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.

Hours:
Monday–Friday / 8:00 AM–5:00 PM / 40 hours per week
- Observe and analyze denial operational processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) inventory management and validation activities.
- Assist with developing and maintaining reporting solutions and automated workflows.
- Analyze operational data and contribute to reporting, process improvement initiatives, and special projects.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Working towards a degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow billing procedures.
- Eagerness to learn new corporate billing and denial processes.
- Initiative and ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Genuine interest in corporate billing processes and reporting.
- Maintains professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Actively participates in training sessions and applies newly learned skills accordingly.
- Exposure to data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Excel, or similar technologies.

About The TeamThe Denial Workflow and Automation Team supports Labcorp's revenue cycle operations by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance visibility into denial management processes. The team develops and maintains automated workflows, reporting solutions, and process improvement initiatives that help drive operational performance and data accuracy.
Using tools such as SAS and Alteryx, the team transforms data into actionable insights, supports process optimization efforts, and enables informed decision‑making across the organization.
