The Production Lead supports the Creative Pastor by helping execute, operate, and maintain the technical and production elements of weekly worship services and special events. This role is hands‑on, service‑focused, and execution‑driven, ensuring that all production systems are prepared, accurate, and operating smoothly so worship gatherings are distraction‑free and excellence‑driven.
This position plays a critical role in running live services, preparing presentation and media systems, operating lighting, audio, and video equipment, and assisting in post‑production workflows. The Production Assistant helps translate vision into reality by ensuring systems, teams, and technology are ready to serve the church well.
This role does not replace the Creative Pastor’s leadership and vision responsibilities but strengthens them through faithful execution, technical excellence, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, run, and support all technical aspects of weekly worship services and special events
- Verify Pro Presenter content weekly, ensuring:
- Correct lyrics
- Current graphics
- Accurate sermon slides
- Proper formatting for in‑room and online audiences
- Operate and direct live services using Blackmagic ATEM switchers and camera systems
- Operate and manage PTZ cameras, including framing, presets, and live adjustments
- Color balance and match cameras for consistent visual output
- Set up, program, and operate lighting using Vista by ChromaQ
- Mix live audio for services as needed, supporting both in‑room and broadcast mixes
- Assist in producing weekly services and special events through:
- Export, organize, and deliver media files for internal use, archives, and online platforms
- Assist with basic editing, audio cleanup, and service prep as directed by the Creative Pastor
- Maintain consistency in service production flow and technical quality
- Assist in setup, teardown, and maintenance of production equipment across campus
- Help troubleshoot technical issues related to audio, video, lighting, and presentation systems
- Support proper care, organization, and readiness of production gear
- Assist with equipment preparation for special events, funerals, weddings, and ministry gatherings
- Work closely with the Creative Pastor, Worship Pastor, Experience Director, and volunteers
- Help train and support volunteers in operating production systems
- Serve with a ministry‑first mindset, valuing excellence, humility, and teamwork
- Participate in staff meetings, production meetings, and prayer gatherings as scheduled
- Perform other production‑related duties as assigned
- Experience serving on a church production or tech team
- Experience in theater, live events, or campus productions
- Coursework, training, or hands‑on experience in media, production, audio, video, or lighting
- A degree in progress or completed in fields such as:
- Media Production
- Broadcasting
- Film or Video
- Theater / Technical Theater
- Audio Engineering
- Communications or a related field
- Planning Center
- Pro Presenter
- Cameras and live video systems
- Audio mixing environments
- Lighting systems or software
- Adobe Premiere, Audition, and Photoshop
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and move throughout services and events
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional extended hours
- Ability to function effectively in high‑stress and emotionally sensitive ministry environments
