Job descriptionLakewood Avenue Children’s School, a NAEYC accredited, 5-star program in Durham is seeking a full time co‑lead teacher to start this summer. Our unique approach to early childhood education is play‑based, and inspired by the child‑led, emergent, project‑based infant/toddler centers and preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy. Jobqualifications
Our ideal candidate holds a minimum BA/BS in Child Development, or a BA/BS in a related field with coursework in child development/early childhood education and experience working with young children. We are looking for teachers who are flexible, adaptable, and excited to be co‑researchers with children. Experience with or desire to work in a progressive, play‑based, Reggio‑inspired setting is essential. Candidates should also be excited to work collaboratively as a teaching partner and as part of a small, connected staff.
Current CBC letter and NC Early Childhood Credential required.
