Engineering Data Administrator
Work Schedule:
1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Location:
Onsite - Burlington, NC Duration: 24 months (Potential Conversion) Position Summary
- The Engineering Data Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and organizing engineering documentation and technical data, with a strong emphasis on CAD drawings and drafting standards.
- This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of engineering files, including AutoCAD drawings, while supporting engineering and design teams with data control and document governance.
- Maintain and organize engineering drawings, models, and related documentation in document management systems.
- Control document revisions, versioning, and release processes to ensure data integrity.
- Ensure proper file naming, metadata tagging, and archiving protocols are followed.
- Support audits and compliance efforts related to engineering documentation.
- Create, modify, and update 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD (or similar CAD tools).
- Perform redline updates and incorporate engineering changes into official drawings.
- Maintain CAD standards, templates, layers, and drafting practices.
- Assist Facilities team in seating assignments on drawings and layout documentation.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of drawings and documentation.
- Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Standardize drawing formats, symbols, and annotation practices.
- Work closely with Facilities, HR, and project teams to manage drawing updates.
- Coordinate drawing releases and ensure stakeholders have access to the latest revisions.
- Provide training or guidance on document control processes and CAD standards.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field (or equivalent experience, Military service included).
- 2+ years of experience in engineering document control, drafting, or CAD administration.
- Experience supporting engineering or construction/manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with industry standards (ANSI, ISO, ASME drafting standards).
- Basic understanding of engineering design principles.
- AutoCAD drafting and editing.
- Document control and data management.
- Version control and revision tracking.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication and cross-team coordination.
- Time management and prioritization.
