Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

• Weekend rotation and holidays as needed

• Must have cardiac PCU experience and be comfortable with 1:5 patient ratios

• Minimum 2 years experience required - first time travelers welcome

• Previous charge RN experience preferred

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIH preferred

• Patient ratios: 1:4 with drips/bipap, otherwise mostly 1:5

• EPIC experience required

• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)

• Staff are scheduled for 6-week periods via self-assisted schedule through Optilink

• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences

• Use of Rapid Response Teams preferred

• Nurse Assistants available 24/7, RN secretary 7a-11p

• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, pre/post cardiac cath care, peripheral line care, PICC line management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, procedural sedation administration, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, and tracheostomy management

• Focus on cardiac patients (CHF, ACS, arrhythmias, cardiac catheterization, MI, syncope, pacemaker placement)

• Secondary focus on respiratory problems (COPD, pneumonia, BiPAP)

• Subject to float to any campus if needed

• Compliance deadline is 12 noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date

This healthcare facility features a 30-bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care department that provides comprehensive cardiac and respiratory care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The unit specializes in caring for cardiac patients with conditions ranging from congestive heart failure to post-cardiac catheterization care, with rooms remotely monitored by a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes advanced monitoring technology to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
