Job Overview
Labcorp is seeking a Director, Innovation and Process Improvement for our Revenue Cycle Management Division in Burlington, North Carolina.
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday standard business hours with flexibility required during peak project periods, executive reviews, system releases, or transformation milestones.
Work Location: This hybrid position offers a balanced schedule of three in-office workdays at our Burlington or Durham, NC locations and two remote workdays per week, supporting both collaboration and flexibility, with occasional onsite meetings and leadership sessions (generally less than 10% travel).
Job Responsibilities- Enterprise Transformation:
Lead RCM transformation initiatives across all domains, shaping future-state workflows and driving innovation. - Strategic Partnership:
Collaborate with Corporate IT and senior leaders to align technology with business objectives. - Analytical Leadership:
Apply AI-driven tools, predictive analytics, and automation to generate insights and support decision-making. - Communication & Storytelling:
Deliver executive-level presentations that clearly articulate problems, solutions, and strategic impact. - Change Enablement:
Support organizational adoption of new processes through documentation, training, and stakeholder engagement. - Governance & Decision-Making:
Make tactical decisions independently while escalating strategic risks to the Senior IT Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 years or more progressive experience in a related field (process improvement, RCM, healthcare operations, IT workflow design, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of experience with RCM functional domains including patient access, billing, coding, denials management, or payer operations.
- 5 or more years of experience leading enterprise or cross‑functional transformation initiatives in matrixed environments.
- 3 or more years of experience using data analytics and reporting tools such as SQL, VBA, Alteryx, or AI-based analytics platforms.
- 3 or more years of experience implementing workflow automation or system integration solutions within healthcare or RCM environments.
- 3 or more years of experience in Project Management Office (PMO), digital transformation, or enterprise innovation teams.
- 3 or more years of experience designing workflow architecture and system integrations across enterprise platforms.
- Certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare reimbursement, payer policy trends, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CMS, HIPAA).
- Experience leading cross‑functional transformation or modernization efforts in complex, matrixed environments.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strategic thinking and enterprise mindset.
- Executive presence and strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with AI, automation, and analytics concepts, with the ability to translate business needs into technology requirements.
- Workflow design and systems integration expertise.
- Data analysis and performance reporting (SQL, VBA, Alteryx, AI platforms).
- Collaborative leadership and stakeholder engagement.
- Creative problem‑solving and growth mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to create and deliver executive‑level presentations on complex technical or strategic topics.
- Experience supporting change adoption, training, or stakeholder engagement during system or workflow rollouts.
- Background in innovation, PMO, digital transformation, or process optimization environments.
- Strong track record of building relationships and influencing across operations, IT, finance, and leadership teams.
