Position Overview
The Real Estate Strategy & GIS Analyst is a key member of the Market Planning team responsible for supporting Burlington's growth strategy through geospatial analytics, predictive modeling, and data-driven decision making. This role evaluates new store, relocation, and existing store opportunities by integrating demographic, competitive, economic, and operational data. Leveraging Geographic Information Systems (GIS), statistical analysis, and automation tools, the Analyst develops actionable insights that influence real estate investment decisions, portfolio optimization, and long-term market planning initiatives.
ADay in the Life
Evaluate the performance of existing Burlington stores, identifying key drivers of success or underperformance. Use GIS tools to provide geographic and demographic analysis for existing and potential store locations. Ensure data integrity and provide ad hoc analysis for various departments as needed. Manage and update relational databases, including data on Burlington store performance, demographics, and competition. Implement Python and/or SQL scripts to automate repetitive tasks and streamline data workflows.
Develop reporting and presentations for management that highlight trends, insights, and actionable recommendations to optimize store operations.
- You’ll Come With Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Economics, Urban Planning, Computer Science, Math or a related quantitative field.
- 1-3 years of experience in data analysis or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical modeling and forecasting.
- Familiarity with GIS tools and competitor analysis methodologies.
- Understanding geodatabase architecture, versioning, and schema design.
- Strong technical skills including Python, SQL, and R, with the ability to develop automated workflows, query and manage datasets, and perform advanced analytical modeling.
- Experience using artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI tools to enhance analysis, automate workflows, improve productivity, and identify actionable business insights.
- Ability to leverage AI-assisted coding, scripting, and data preparation tools while ensuring accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with company standards.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other data visualization tools.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Compensation Range: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
