Fabricator

Location:

Burlington, NC

Shift: Mon‑Thurs 6AM‑4PM, Fri 6AM‑2:30PM
Pay: $20‑$22/hour

Summary

Fabricating and assembling metal structures by reading and following shop drawings and blueprints. Performs accurate measurements, cuts, and welds to meet specifications and quality standards. Utilizes Flux Core (FCAW) welding in accordance with AWS D1.1 standards, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with safety procedures. Operates welding tools and equipment efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Responsibilities
  • Read and follow shop drawings and blueprints to meet fabrication specifications.
  • Perform Flux Core (FCAW) welding in accordance with AWS D1.1 standards.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure all work meets structural and safety requirements.
  • Operate welding and fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work independently or as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks to specification.
  • Stand, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs. as required.
  • Maintain focus and accuracy under pressure.
  • Troubleshoot fabrication issues and ensure structural integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures and environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
Requirements
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols.
  • Proficient in Flux Core (FCAW) and basic welding techniques.
  • Skilled in measuring, cutting, and fitting materials to specifications.
  • Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards.
  • Familiar with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Understanding of safety practices and PPE requirements.
